Teima Onorio (new orth Teimwa) (born 1963) is the current Vice President of the Republic of Kiribati.〔("Kiribati Thanks Cuba for its Cooperation and Solidarity" ), Cuban News Agency, May 29, 2009〕 She served a first term of Vice President from 2003 to 2007,〔("Historical Information on the Parliament of Kiribati" ), Kiribati Parliament website〕 before being reappointed in 2007 and 2012. Onorio was educated at Victoria University of Wellington (BA) and the University of East Anglia (MA, 1990). She served as Member of Parliament for the Arorae constituency from 1998 to 2002.〔 She is the daughter of Rota Onorio, president of Council of State, and acting President of Kiribati from 10 December 1982 until 18 February 1983.
